The Mission of the NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) Board of Certification is to certify athletic trainers and to identify for the public, quality healthcare professionals through a system of certification, adjudication, standards of practice and continuing competency programs.

 "Professional Fitness Instructor Training is recognized by the NATA Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for certified athletic trainers."

NATABOC is Accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.  NATABOC approves providers of continuing education activities, not individual courses. Approval is granted annually and covers all courses that meet NATABOC continuing education guidelines.

NATABOC approved providers of continuing education are guided by the following principles of professional conduct as they interact with NATABOC certified athletic trainers.

Approved providers will:

•  Adhere to all continuing education standards and guidelines as described by NATABOC.

•  Maintain the integrity and copyright of all proprietary NATABOC documents and materials.

•  Be truthful in statements to NATABOC and the public, including NATABOC certified athletic trainers.

•  Comply with all applicable business, employment and copyright laws.

•  Provide equal and fair treatment to all continuing education activity/course participants.

•  Comply with the NATABOC audit system.

•  Uphold and enhance public appreciation and trust for the profession of athletic training.

•  Maintain the confidentiality of all participant information.
